Substitute Teaching in Hoke County

Those individuals interested in becoming a substitute for Hoke County Schools should:

1. It is a Board of Education requirement that all substitutes complete the Effective Teacher Training or have a teaching license. Applicants should bring to the Human Resources Department the certificate given them after having taken the Effective Teacher Training or their license so that a copy may be made and placed with the application.
2.. Complete a substitute application by getting the paper application at the Human Resources Department or by going on-line to clicking on Human Resources under DEPARTMENTS; clicking on "on-line applications".
3. An interview will be set up, references will be checked, and approval by the Hoke County Schools' Board of Education will be completed.
4. Evidence of satisfactory completion of five (5) hours of volunteer work in the classroom at one or the Hoke County Schools must be documented.

*Applicants must have a high school diploma or show satisfactory completion of an approved GED program
*Applicants must be at least 22 years old to apply
